Spyder Active Sports (AKA Cloudveil) Names New CEO, CFO

(Boulder, Colo.) – Ski and performance apparel leader Spyder Active Sports, Inc. today announced that Thomas McGann has been named the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. McGann comes to Spyder Active Sports, also the parent company for Cloudveil Mountain Works, with decades of executive experience, including serving as President of Burton and CEO of Motorsport Aftermarket Group. McGann will be responsible for ensuring profitable growth and maximizing operating performance.

“Tom comes to us with a great deal of experience,” comments David Jacobs, Spyder Founder and Chairman. “He knows the space, and he knows the industry. I’m confident he’ll reinforce Spyder as the number one ski brand.”

“I’m excited by the opportunity to come to work with Spyder and Cloudveil, both strong brands with talented teams,” McGann said. “I’ve enjoyed working in a product-focused, adrenaline-based environment. This is a strong foundation on which we can continue to build and leverage these two outstanding brands for growth.” McGann pointed to focusing on excellent execution, outstanding dealer service, and creating an inclusive internal planning process.

In conjunction with McGann’s appointment, Doug Hood has been hired as CFO. His financial experience includes posts at Motorsport Aftermarket Group, Aspen Marketing Group and SCI Promotion. Hood will direct Spyder’s short and long-term financial goals, including strategizing best fiscal practices relating to established and new distribution channels and income centers.

They are outstanding guys with strong operational backgrounds and a deep knowledge of the outdoor and angling markets.
