Casting for Recovery (CFR), a national non-profit support and educational organization for women who have or have had breast cancer, is proud to welcome L.L.Bean as a national sponsor.
Lori Simon, Executive Director, made the announcement and stated “In joining us to sustain and expand our program to help women move forward to a healthier life, L.L.Bean not only recognizes the impact that CFR has in making a difference in communities across the nation, but is committed to meeting the continuing demand we face. I am thrilled to be making this announcement as we approach the close of our 2010 retreat season.”
L.L.Bean is launching a special Tropicwear® women’s lightweight shirt featuring the CFR logo, as well as a baseball cap, and is publicizing a program in their catalog in which $2 from the sale of every pink shirt, available in long-sleeve, short-sleeve, and sleeveless versions, will be donated to Casting for Recovery. The high-performance Tropicwear® shirt is rated to UPF 50+, and the versatile new design boasts a more flattering and comfortable fit. The shirts will be available for purchase in January 2011.
“We are proud to partner with Casting for Recovery on this endeavor. We recognize the unique program this fantastic organization offers to help improve the lives of women dealing with breast cancer,” said Mac McKeever, Senior Public Relations Representative with L.L.Bean. “Our hope is that by featuring CFR in our catalog and on our web site and making a contribution with each purchase, we will help raise awareness about the great service CFR provides to help improve the quality of life for those women recovering from breast cancer treatment.”
