Angling Trade wanted to start the new year off upbeat. A little news from Fishwest fly shop in Sandy, Utah is proof positive that the giving spirit is alive and well in our industry.
Dustin Carlson of Fishwest said, “We decided to split the goods up between three organizations; The Salt Lake City Mission, The Road Home and the Boy Scouts of America. In total, we donated approximately 1000 Shirts, 2500 pairs of socks and some jackets and sweaters split between the SLC Mission and The Road Home. We donated 200 pairs of youth sized wading boots to The Boy Scouts of America. The total donation values around $55,000 dollars.”
Dustin went on to say that, “The best was how thankful the organizations were to receive the donations.” Albert Maule at the SLC Mission exclaimed, “You have no idea how badly we need this. We ran out of men’s clothes last week.” Fishwest reported getting similar enthusiasm from each one of the organizations.
