Ashland, OR – Bauer has introduced the next generation Mackenzie CFX. Since its inception 16 years ago, this is the first major re-engineering of the original MacKenzie. The new CFX hybrid encompasses the retro look of the original Mackenzie and the sealed, floating carbon fiber disc drag of the Rogue model.
The CFX features a clean, narrow appearance with classic porting. The V-Arbor spool retains the detented star drag knob when removed from the reel frame so there are no loose parts. All components are machined from 100% aerospace bar stock aluminum and stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. The spool and drag system rotate on sealed, precision stainless steel ball bearings. The patented, non-corrosive Bauer Zero-Backlash clutch permits the user to easily change retrieve direction or service the clutch without tools. The Rogue floating carbon fiber composite drag system delivers smooth performance at all settings and in all conditions—no maintenance required.
The CFX has a deep anodized Jet Black polished finish with eight optional spool colors available. Starting at $310, the new model is now available in five sizes for 3 wt. through 9 wt. lines. For additional information, visit bauerflyreel.com.
