From Backcountry Hunters & Anglers:

This past week representatives from Backcountry Hunters & Anglers traveled to Washington DC to meet with Western Congressional leaders to share our passion for hunting and fishing wild country, while educating decision makers about BHA’s efforts to ensure our sporting traditions remain free and quiet.

Topics of discussion included:  the Land and Water Conservation Fund; standardized visible OHV identifications; locally-derived land protections and the Border Bill.

Congressional staff welcomed BHA as a group that crosses political boundaries, and as one staff member put it, as “a group of folks who are actually out there on the ground.”  Others aptly recognized BHA as “a unique group that’s bridging the gap between environmental groups and sportsmen on issues like wilderness designation.”

The meetings were a great success and great opportunity to bring our message from the home front to the hill.
