PEAK Fishing has announcing that their 2012 sales reached a record level for the fourth consecutive year. According to Brand Manager Al Ritt, PEAK Fishing’s sales were up more than 28% in 2012 over 2011. Ritt also offered that “2012 was also our fifth consecutive year of increased sales. Sales in 2012 were more than 3-1/2 times what our sales were as recently as 2007. Given the economic challenges faced by the US during that same period we are very excited by this trend. Additionally Sales in 2013 continue to trend upward from 2012.”
PEAK’s owner and President Allen Schultz added “We’ve continued to ramp up production the past four years and each time we do the demand for our product increases as well. It’s the ideal situation for any business and we’re committed to supporting current demand as well as continuing to grow our production along with our dealer and end user base. Four years ago we determined ramping up PEAK’s visibility in the fly fishing and tying community was the key our growth. We were already producing quality products at reasonable prices that received excellent reviews from casual to professional level tiers. We’ve addressed the visibility issue with advertisements in consumer and trade publications, on the internet, through our sponsorship of the IF4 Film Tour and with our television ads on WFN and WildTV. We have also built an incredibly talented pro-staff of international fly tiers who appear at shows and shops providing fly tying demonstrations and instruction. These efforts have helped showcase the quality, functionality and economy of our products. That in turn has led to more consumers seeking our products specifically from their local dealer.”
Ritt continued “We’re very pleased with the increased support we’ve received from our existing vendors and the addition of many new fly shops in areas we previously were not represented. We continue to search for additional dealers to make our products locally available across North America and have been pleased at the number of fly shops who have taken the initiative and contacted us. We would also like to increase our representation overseas and are reaching out to potential additional dealers and/or distributors in the Europe, Australia, Asia and South America.”
