Nautilus Reels has hired Matt Callies as our Southwest Territory Sales Representative. Nautilus Reels has been manufacturing fly-fishing reels since 1996 and has assumed a leading position in the fly-fishing reel market. California and the Southwest is a vast territory that has a tremendous growth potential for us, and we believe that Matt will be a great asset to our team of sales representatives.
Nautilus Reels has just completed an expansion of its factory in Miami, Florida, and is looking to begin opening new fly-fishing retail accounts worldwide. After a two-year moratorium on opening new accounts we are looking forward to expanding our network of fly shops. Our manufacturing investments allow us to increase production threefold without sacrificing quality of workmanship or components. We anticipate another record-breaking year in manufacturing and sales.
Matt was born and raised in Encinitas, California. He was introduced into the world of fishing at the age of four by his dad and has never looked back. His formative years were spent chasing large bass, saltwater species, and high altitude trout in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He quickly developed an obsession for steelhead and fly tying. This passion has evolved into a career as a contract fly tyer, guide, and sales representative. Matt lives in northern California with his expecting wife, daughter, and faithful lab, Charlie, across the street from the Sacramento River.
