From Redington:
July 8, 2013 (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) – Redington believes anglers should be comfortable even in the worst weather, so it partnered with Cocona© to create fabric to keep anglers warm and dry. This technology will be available in three new wader styles, a wading jacket and a selection of Redington baselayers.
Cocona uses natural micro-particles permanently embedded in polyester fibers to enhance performance by actively removing moisture, increasing the rate of evaporation and breathability, drying faster and maintaining better odor control. The particles pull water molecules away from the body and push them out through a waterproof/breathable membrane, leaving anglers less sweaty and clammy and more comfortable while on the water.
“We tested dozens of fabrics and Cocona proved to be the best choice for anglers,” explains Redington General Manager, David Visnack. “Knowing that any day on the water can bring a multitude of weather conditions, Cocona enhances the performance of our waders, jacket and baselayers to ensure long days on the water are about fishing, not worrying about how to stay dry and comfortable.”
Redington designed three new wader styles and a wading jacket by combining Cocona with high-tech sonic welded construction. In addition, Redington added the SonicDry Baselayer series comprised of a crew and pants for both men and women. When wearing the baselayers with the waders, anglers are sure to be more comfortable for long days on the water. Redington’s SonicDry Baselayers will be available August 2013 and the Super Dry Waders will be available in February 2014.
