Greetings from the International Fly Tackle Dealer (IFTD) and International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST) events, this year conveniently co-located in sunny Las Vegas. The shows kicked off tonight with the openings of “new product showcases,” and attendance is truly international in flavor, including over 9,000 retail and manufacturing professionals from 70 countries worldwide.
Whether you are actually here at the events or not, you’ll want to stay tuned to Angling Trade over the next few days, as we will be reporting directly from the shows. Here’s what we have planned:
At 9 p.m. Wednesday (Las Vegas time) we will send an E-blast newsletter update featuring several of the hottest fly-specific new products we encounter. We will follow up on Friday at noon with more, broader all-fishing product reviews, as well as our annual “state of the show” commentary. As we hear of breaking news, important emerging issues, and other topics that serve the interests of fly tackle dealers, we will report them to you, as professionally, unfiltered and thoroughly as always. We’re not here to be a mouthpiece for the hype… we’re here to serve the dealers.

Good service for those of us not attending and looking for story/column material. Keep it coming.
Couldn’t make the show this year, but great news – staying informed. Thanks.
