Waterworks-Lamson has introduced the Litespeed Micra-5.
The drag housing is made from the same solid bar stock as the frame, there is no separate threaded cassette thereby eliminating weight while increasing stiffness and strength. The integrated housing is much narrower and can support a narrower spool, which results in additional weight reduction and a higher retrieve rate for improved line handling.
Litespeed Micra-5 has enhanced 3D milling that makes for better material distribution. It sports an improved ergonomic drag knob with zero snag points and a full diameter for better grip.
Litespeed Micra-5 also has a new finish first used on the Force SL 20th Anniversary edition, called Micralox. This exclusive process is found only on Litespeed reels and is reportedly 20 times more impervious to corrosion than standard anodize and is as hard as Type III Hard Alox.
Litespeed Micra-5 retails at $349.95 and up, available in size 1.5 through 4. It will be available in fly shops in November.
