From AFFTA:
Vice President of Global Sales for Bozeman-based Simms Fishing Products, Mike Moore, was unanimously appointed to the AFFTA board last week to fill a seat vacated by Mark Harbaugh of Patagonia. Moore brings an impressive history in outdoor sales, including time at Spyder Active Sports, CamelBak Products, Thule, Lowe Alpine Systems and several other leading outdoor industry brands. He joined Simms in January 2017, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the role of Vice President, Global Sales.
Moore’s appointment will take effect immediately. Moore will need to run in the 2018 General Election for a three-year term, if desired. AFFTA President and CEO Ben Bulis noted; “I couldn’t be more excited to see Mike join the AFFTA Board. He’s a well-respected executive in the industry and his experiences will be extremely beneficial to the organization and the fly-fishing industry. Mike was instrumental in preparing AFFTA’s Industry Reports in the late 90’s while at Leisure trends and is intimately aware of the fly fishing industry, the challenges and the opportunities ahead.”
AFFTA advocates for and promotes the sustained growth of the fly fishing industry. By igniting consumer demand for products and services, providing businesses the tools to be successful, and advocating for access, protection and restoration of fishing waters, we will continue to enhance the passion and profitability of the sport of fly fishing.
