Starting with this newsletter, and including two more during the show, we’re going to zero in on the products we think are making the biggest waves (or will make the biggest waves when they hit store shelves), we’ll share industry news as we hear it, and we’ll be producing a number of product videos which we will air on our website, in future newsletters, and with Trout Unlimited as well.
Heading into the show we know a few things already. 1) It’s the biggest, best-attended fly-fishing trade show in years, with record numbers of retailers, media, and exhibiting manufacturers. The momentum is good. 2) However, 95% of the products on display have already been shown to most dealers and media. Just by virtue of the timing of the show, many companies have had their 2020 slate in the works for months already, so we expect only a handful of surprises. And 3) IFTD is going to deliver exactly as much value as those participating choose to invest in getting out of it. Social gathering? Business meeting? You decide, and there are a number of very carefully orchestrated educational seminars available, so we suggest you tune into those for full effect.
