Work in an established fly shop in the heart of the Catskill region of New York.
Position: Assistant Manager
Position Type: Seasonal
Profile: You will work directly with the store owner with a focus on customer service and maintaining day to day functions of the Beaverkill Angler. The position will be based in Roscoe, New York. Depending on performance permanent position can be discussed. This will start when New York State removes the restrictions against opening to the public. Guiding fishing is another option that can be discussed.
Region: You will also get to experience maybe the best trout fishing on the east coast. We are minutes from the Beaverkill & Willowemoc Rivers and 30 to 60 minutes from the East, West, & Main stem of the Delaware River, Esopus Creek, Neversink River, & the Schoarie River. We have recently moved into a new location and awarded the 2017 Orivs Fly Shop of the Year award.
Responsibilities: Including but not limited to assisting customers, stock & maintain sales floor, process shipments & returns, website updates, inventory, and daily store cleaning/maintenance. This is a small business so it will be expected for you to preform numerous tasks as they arise.
Requirements: Positive attitude, personal fly fishing experience, the ability to communicate, modern computer skills (POS experience), and the ability to work with others. Long hours and working on multiple tasks will be important.
Compensation: Will depend on experience, position is seasonal but full-time, & housing arrangements can be discussed.
