Angling Trade E-Survey 0 By Angling Trade on 04/13/2021 Conservation, Industry News Because much of the country is experiencing “mega-drought” and outlook for summer is hot and dry, we have to ask: Do you actively monitor stream temperatures, and do you voluntarily stop fishing—and/or guiding—certain places when the water gets too warm? I don’t bother with any of that. I don’t take stream temperatures, but I honor closures and such when they’re recommended. I monitor water temps, and don’t fish if it’s too warm, without someone having to urge me not to. That’s really not an issue where I am. I don’t know/haven’t thought about it.
