IFTD is not relevant in the fishing business. There is a lot of great products at ICAST from companies who love all forms of angling. They are not afraid of competition or criticism, they embrace it. Held in the middle of the summer when everyone is fishing in the Northern Hemisphere. Does not hurt their attendance. Number one experience of visiting a fly shop other than FlyMasters of Indianapolis is this, “Was in the store for several minutes, no one said anything to me.” That has always been present in the fly industry. Isn’t going away soon. The people that support it will always be in denial that they need to change their behavior, they are just too smart.
