Colorado Company Set to Release All-New Fishing and Hunting Lumbar Pack
Mountainsmith, the Colorado-based company that has spent more than 40 years as a leading gear manufacturer specializing in durable goods for hiking and camping, is excited to unveil its all-new Timber lumbar pack, giving the company its first dedicated hunting and fishing pack that will allow users ultra-fast access to on-trail or in-river essentials at a moments notice.
The TIMBER pack is a design that Mountainsmith has been working on for quite some time, and they have hit the nail on the head in order to help contribute to a better experience for hunting and fishing enthusiasts. The design of the Timber lumbar pack is geared towards these two wildly popular sports thanks to the front panel organization optimized for smaller fishing and hunting items, a main compartment including two webbing loops for use with handgun trigger guard, and a bright yellow liner that promotes visibility. The pack is set to hit the market January of 2023.
The TIMBER pack marks a breakthrough for Mountainsmith, combining true innovation and a wealth of essential features with a speciality design and aesthetic to create a remarkable new entry into the market. This unique lumbar pack also features a removable waist belt that allows for use with other straps or belts, while also containing a ‘pass through’ waist belt to allow for rotation while wearing.
“We are extremely excited to see the Timber come to fruition after lot’s of research and testing,” said General Manager Jonathan McFarland. “Having the opportunity to make a product that will better meet the needs of many of our loyal customers is a thrilling step for us at Mountainsmith. We recognize that many of our customers use our current products for hunting and fishing and wanted to offer an improved experience for them.”
These new bags are each made with 610d HP Cordura, feature a YKK Zipper which create a rugged and burly pack designed to withstand those rainy and murky days in the backcountry. The TIMBER will be available in both a black and coyote brown color, making the pack suitable for blending in when on the trail or even walking in town for an end of the day drink.
“I designed the Timber to be a simple day use fly fishing lumbar pack that has multiple attachment points for fishing gear,” said Senior Designer Rio Telge. “My design process for the timber comes from over 15 years of designing fly fishing gear.”
