Angling Trade E-Survey: How do you really feel about “private” water? 1 By Angling Trade on 07/31/2023 Industry News How do you really feel about “private” water? That’s a trout problem, and I like to fish saltwater, bass, bluegill, carp, pike and other things because of it. I think private water, anywhere, is a sin and a stain on fishing, and I think everything should be open to everyone, all the time. I think you deal with what is, and let the states decide—you want access, go to Montana, want privacy, go somewhere else where the law is different. I see it both ways, think our public rivers can get pressured too much, so it’s good to be able to find some guaranteed solitude, even if it costs money. If a private outfitter can make money via permits on public water, any landowner should be able to make money off of water that flows through their property. Anyone who complains about private water, or pressured public water… is simply too lazy to hike a little bit. View Results Loading ... Share. Twitter Facebook Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email
