I wish rod companies would let the Dealers sell the warranties – just like appliances or electronics, then the consumer can choose what level of insurance he wants. That would lower rod prices , (somewhat), but more importantly it would free up all parties involved from this non stop competition of trying to out do each other on warranties and concentrate on the performance of the products without the hinderance of who’s rod lasts longer even after the customer beats it to death. If you’re hard on your gear but a better insurance plan, if not, you shouldn’t have to pay for someone who is.
