Backcountry Hunters & Anglers announced today the addition of Peter Vandergrift, chief marketing officer for outdoor company North Point Brands, to their North American Board of Directors. Vandergift will serve alongside newly-appointed board chair, Ryan Callaghan, and several other notable names in the conservation community throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

“When I found Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, I thought, ‘Finally, an organization that gets me and stands for what I believe in: Access to public lands, public waters and public wildlife,’ Vandergrift said. “I’m so pleased that I can give back to an organization that protects so much.”

Vandergrift, who spent nearly two decades working as a fly-fishing guide in Alaska, Montana, and Wyoming, brings with him years of experience related to journalism, filmmaking and product marketing. Having previously worked for outdoor gear giants Simms Fishing Products and Costa Sunglasses, Vandergrift will prove especially helpful to BHA in areas related to promotions, marketing and brand development.

“Pete is an impressive addition to our Board, and BHA will undoubtedly benefit from his expertise on strategy and communication,” said Patrick Berry, president and CEO for BHA. “His years of experience in outdoor retail marketing – paired with his genuine passion for all things conservation and BHA-related – make him an extraordinary asset as we continue to navigate the future of this incredible organization.”
