Trout Unlimited thanks those who supported S. 2781/H.R. 7779, the Good Samaritan Remediation of Abandoned Hardrock Mines Act of 2024.

From TU:

On Thursday of last week, we sent to key members of Congress your support letter from the outdoor recreation business industry. We are grateful for your endorsement. In total, seventy-eight (78) outdoor recreation brands, businesses and associations signed on in support of this common sense, bipartisan legislation. The letter was sent to bipartisan bill sponsors, Senate and House leadership and key Congressional committees with jurisdiction on matters pertaining to Good Sam.

We wanted to provide you with a copy of the letter for your records. Please find it attached.

Additionally, we issued a national press release promoting the letter while highlighting the importance of this powerful endorsement from your industry. Find the press release here.

Trout Unlimited also promoted the letter via our social media channels. If you’re so inclined, we would welcome your help amplifying this important message on your business’ and/or personal social media channels. Please find attached a social media tool kit to help you along. We would be grateful if you’d share the tool kit with your communications team.

Lastly, to promote Good Sam we are likely to pursue later this summer opinion-editorial pieces in key media outlets. If you’d like to assist us in this effort by authoring, or signing off on a prepared op-ed, please let me know. We’ll do everything we can to make this easy for you.

Thank you again for your support. Your industry is a key endorsement and we at Trout Unlimited are immensely thankful for your assistance in passing this vital legislation to promote abandoned mine cleanups to improve mining-impacted water quality for everyone.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything.

On behalf of the entire Good Sam team, “Thank you, thank you!”
