Nautilus has released a highly anticipated reel series named GTS… available through dealers.
Here is the press release:
Nautilus Reels is pleased to announce the arrival of their new, highly anticipated GTS reels. Years in the making, this new series of fly-fishing reels replaces the already remarkable NV-G series with significant enhancements to make for an even more impressive lineup of reels.
It has been more than seven years since Nautilus introduced their widely acclaimed and award-winning GTX reels. Since that release in 2017, the team at Nautilus has studied this reel while envisioning ways to develop its design into a smaller reel for anglers around the world.
“Seemingly endless hours of careful attention to every detail and aspect of designing this reel was time well spent,” states Kristen Mustad, president of Nautilus Reels. “We couldn’t be prouder of our new lineup of GTS reels and we’re excited to start shipping these reels to fly shops right away.”
Among the many standout characteristics of the new GTS, this reel is impressively lightweight, offers an effortless left-hand to right-hand conversion, has an expanded drag adjustment range, and has a sleeker design than the NV-G series (which the GTS is replacing). As Mustad puts it, accomplishing this sleeker design was “no small feat.”
With the GTS, Nautilus also introduces groundbreaking features never seen before in a reel. For instance, the spool release cap now boasts a 15/16″ (24 mm) hex shape—the same size as a lug nut on a car—so if it ever gets stuck, you can remove it with a standard socket wrench. Nautilus also added external backing markers, with spools featuring two crossbars to indicate the optimal backing fill level for your line weight.
Like all Nautilus reels, the GTS will be available exclusively through fly shops. Contact your local fly shop to learn more.
