From Smith:

When you have eyes on the water all day, you rely on optics that keep your view fresh and sharp. SMITH continues its commitment to empowering anglers through innovative eyewear with the launch of the new Outrigger and Redding 2 sunglasses. Each model is offered exclusively with proprietary ChromaPop™ lens technology to deliver enhanced color, clarity, and definition across a variety of tints and designed with purpose-built features to maximize on-water performance.

The modern, angular frame shape and 6-base modest wrap of the Outrigger offers large coverage and progressive style that easily transitions from mornings spent casting tight lines to relaxed afternoons recounting the catches. The addition of integrated slim side shields offers peripheral light protection and reduces reflective backside glare. The leash-compatible temples provide added security when worn off the face.

Following the success of the original, the Redding 2 receives key innovation updates in the popular low-profile frame. The 8-base performance wraparound design offers a secure fit, ample coverage, and distraction-free comfort. For added reassurance, SMITH included a PivLock™ leash retainer that seamlessly attaches to the frames to keep them safe when releasing a fish or peering over the side of a boat.

Both models are comprised of lightweight and durable Evolve™ bio-based frame material and include strategic, low-profile frame details to minimize moisture buildup. Additional features include megol temple and nose pads for a non-slip grip, self-adjusting spring hinges for a snug, comfortable fit, and are RX compatible through SMITH’s in-house optical lab.

Designed with glare-cutting polarization that enhances contrast and depth perception, the Outrigger and Redding 2 are each available in a variety of ChromaPop lens solutions – including Glass and PolarChromic options – that all include smudge and moisture-resistant coatings for easy cleaning and clear optics. The Outrigger is offered in six lens tints options, and the Redding 2 is available in eight lens options, including SMITH’s newly launched ChromaPop™ Glass PolarChromic lenses – in Yellow Blue Mirror and Brown Green Mirror – merging top-tier eyewear technologies of polarized glass, photochromic adaptability, and color-enhancing lenses never before available in market. Both self-adjusting tints change from category 2 (20-23% VLT) to category 3 (11% VLT) depending on available light, making them the ideal choice for all-day adventures on the water when starting or ending in low light is likely.

The Outrigger (MSRP $195-$245 depending on lens option) and Redding 2 (MSRP $215-$305 depending on lens option) are available now at smithoptics.com and select specialty retailers worldwide.
