From ARC Fishing:
ARC Fishing (Angling Research Company, LLC), today announced the launch of the company with product offerings in the categories of premium, high performance fly lines, tippet and leader products.
The new company, founded by Dayne P. Glass and Travis D. Thompson, has invested more than two years identifying new technology and developing its initial product line.
“The ARC product line delivers innovative technology to the market,” says David Thompson, an ARC shareholder and the co-founder of fishpond, Inc., “but it also was designed to simplify a highly-technical category so that anglers can better understand important line features and their application to fishing conditions.”
David Thompson, who will serve as head of product planning and development for the new company, adds that the company’s tippet lineup will feature several first-to-market technologies specifically designed to improve the fly fishing experience. These signature product innovations include:
- ARC Fluorocoat freshwater tippet, the fly fishing industry’s first fluorocarbon-coated nylon tippet combining the best performance attributes of both materials.
- ARC Camo freshwater tippet, a new class of supple, yet strong tippet offering extremely low visibility benefits from a multicolor camouflage pattern.
In addition to the new freshwater tippet lineup that will also include the ARC Fluoro NXT latest generation 100% fluorocarbon tippet, ARC will offer a line of saltwater tippets and freshwater and saltwater leaders.
In the fly line category, key products include the high-performance ARC 99 and ARC 99+ series freshwater lines featuring ZNG Technology.
“ARC fly lines incorporate what we call ZNG technology,” explains Travis Thompson. “The performance benefits of ZNG Technology make our fly lines among the longest-casting, highest-floating and easiest-mending on the market today. We are making line choices easier by offering a high-performance line that excels under the broadest range of fishing conditions.”
The ARC 99 fly line is a premium true-to-weight line, while the ARC 99 + is half-a-line-size heavy and features a more aggressive taper, making it the perfect choice for today’s faster action fly rods.
The company’s saltwater fly line series includes the ARC 99 Salt premium tropical saltwater line, as well as the more specialized ARC Bonefish/Redfish line and the ARC Tarpon line.
“Simplicity is at the core of our design philosophy,” says Dayne Glass. “However, that no longer means sacrificing performance. Our goal is reaching into the future to make the latest technology available to more fly fisherman. To achieve this goal, we have partnered with world-class manufacturers to apply our knowledge of materials and create the most technically advanced and versatile tippet, leaders and fly lines on the market today.”
ARC Fishing will showcase its new products to dealers at the IFTD/ICAST show (Booth #406) in Orlando this week. Products will be available through fly shops, online dealers and catalogs in North America beginning this month as well.
The company will operate a distribution facility in Lenexa, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City, to improve delivery times and reduce shipping costs to its dealers.
“We will continue to develop products that enhance the angler experience,” adds Glass. “We have a number of innovative line products under development and will be bringing them to market in the coming months.”
