Scientific Anglers has come out with a new series of fly lines called “amplitude” ($129.95) that features the new “AST Plus” slickness additive. You kind of have to feel it to really appreciate it, but we did notice it. The line “glides” through the guides of a rod, and we could shoot line easier. The best part, perhaps, is that this stuff doesn’t wear off, it actually moves within the coating. That means these lines will stay slick long after they leave the fly shop. A long-term performer that is worth showing to customers.
