Angling Trade E-Survey : How is fly fishing REALLY doing, when it comes to appealing to a more DIVERSE target audience?

   I’m not sure how you interpret ‘diverse’ but if it includes age then yes… there is work to be done. Just look at the ads or films in the flyfishing film festivals and rarely do they show anyone outside of the 20-35 year old age brackets. Kids and older folks should be included imho as they are the future and they are of the generation willing to ‘pay it forward’ and help nurture fly fishers along.
   Just ‘sayin. One of the beauties of fly fishing is the wide demographic in several categories that it can encompass yet, it seems it is mainly aimed at flannel shirt wearing, bearded young bucks and not much else.
   The reality is, no matter how much you think it’ll never happen when you are young, eventually time marches on and your chest won’t always be bigger than your belly.
