The American Fly Fishing Trade Association will be hosting its dealer summit in Austin, Texas, March 19-22. This has turned into a unique happening, as it is the only 100-percent-focused on retailers happening in fly fishing. Participants have the opportunities to candidly discuss issues and opportunities, and learn on topics that help them enhance their market presence. There is still time to register, and you can learn more by going here.
Meanwhile, here’s an overview of a couple of seminars:
Fisheries Fund, presented by Captain Lucas Bissett
Brand-building and good business focus on the difference they can make in the bigger picture as much as in the bottom line. Learn how the Fisheries Fund was leveraged into a successful and lasting community development strategy focused on the restoration of black mangroves along the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
Charter Captain and AFFTA Board Secretary, Lucas Bissett is an Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guide from Louisiana. Growing up in the “Sportsmen’s Paradise” and running Low Tide Charters has given him an appreciation for the bounty mother nature can provide while instilling in him the passion to protect it. Fly fishing was the catalyst Lucas used to explore the marshes of Louisiana and the vehicle he now uses to convey the importance of conserving ecosystems and fisheries for future generations. He is one of the lead advisers of the Fisheries Fund-supported St. Bernard Parish Black Mangrove Project in Louisiana.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, presented by Dan Morgan
Partnering with cause-related organizations and initiatives for events and gatherings can be a win-win for fly shops. Learn about how PHWFF works with shops around the country to host events that drive awareness, build community and add value through new (and loyal) customers.
