A shout-out to FlyLords… and kudos to TroutRoutes for having the chutz to ask a hard, honest question: Are fly-fishing apps that can direct people to places to fish a blessing or a curse?
Let’s be honest… there are some of us who have walked literally hundreds of miles in soggy wading boots to find that “off-the-grid” honey hole… and there are a lot of fly shops and guides who hang their hats on their ability to direct people to special places to fish. Is turning on the cell phone and following directions instant gratification? A shortcut? Or just an evolution of the times that may spread people out at a time when we really need that?
