New for Fall 2022, Patagonia is proud to introduce the Swiftcurrent™ Wading Jacket and Black Hole® Rod Case.
Built with 100% recycled NetPlus® material made from reclaimed fishing nets, the Patagonia Swiftcurrent™ Wading Jacket is engineered to work efficiently through nature’s most unpredictable changes.

In addition, the Black Hole® Rod Case delivers customizable gear storage and industry-first recycled TPU, providing the same legendary Black Hole® toughness using materials that would otherwise go to waste.
Last year, Patagonia granted more than $1,265,000 to groups protecting wild fish and clean water. These organizations reconnect our rivers, oppose the wasteful futility of hatcheries and deadbeat dams and fight the open net-pen salmon farming disaster. Our rivers, oceans and fish were born wild. Built with Bureo’s NetPlus® material, a 100% recycled nylon made from reclaimed fishing nets, the Swiftcurrent™ Wading Jacket is engineered to cast freely, eliminate line snag and keep water where it belongs—in the river.
Recycled Materials
4-layer H2No® Performance Standard 100% recycled nylon shell with a 15-denier circular-knit slick jersey backer for added comfort and performance, a waterproof/breathable barrier and a PFC-free DWR finish (durable water repellent coating that does not contain perfluorinated chemicals). Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.
Adjustable Drop Hood
Easily adjustable, vented hood and integrated collar provide maximum protection in heavy weather and high winds; hood is designed to accommodate all headwear and can be dropped independently from collar.
Watertight Cuffs
Adjustable, watertight cuffs keep arms dry when releasing fish; recessed design eliminates line snag.
Pockets
Two low-profile, front-zip pockets fit fly boxes; zippered handwarmer pockets are positioned for deep wading and feature flap covers for back-of-hand comfort.
Travel can be tough on fly rods. Our new Black Hole® Rod Case is built from sturdy 100% recycled fabric coated with a recycled TPU laminate to withstand the roughest trips to and from the water and has adjustable internal storage to keep everything organized along the way. Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.

100% recycled TPU laminate delivers the same legendary weather- and abrasion-resistance you’ve come to expect from Black Hole® but allows us to reduce our carbon emissions in manufacturing by 89% compared to virgin TPU. It’s the latest step in Patagonia’s path to using 100% recycled raw materials across our entire line.
