Tim and Lisa Savard, who have owned and operated the “Cabins at Lopstick” in Pittsburg, New Hampshire, have decided to sell their successful operation, and are encouraging any interested parties in the outdoor/fly fishing business to contact them directly.
The reason, according to Lisa: “We have owned Lopstick since 1991. In that time we’ve gone from 8 to 42 rented cabins, opened a fly shop, created a guide service, became a snowmobile rental outfit, met tons of great people, raised our family and had a wonderful time doing it all. For years we’ve been vacationing in the Missoula, Montana area and in 2008 we bought a small cabin, which we rent when we are not there. On our annual vacation there in the spring of 2011, just before celebrating 20 years at Lopstick, we decided we’d like to move West. Not retirement (yet) as we have ideas for new ventures but a little slower pace. Lopstick would benefit from new owners, new ideas to take it the next 20 years.”
Lopstick is an Orvis-endorsed outfitter. While its business model is based on fly fishing, it also caters to a large vacationer clientele, including snowmobilers. As such, the lodge operates year-round.

Much luck to you both, Tim and Lisa. I was one of your earliest renters and still use the Hobey float boat you sold me one summer. Though I haven’t been up to that part of New England for some time now, I have very fond memories of your original cottages, ones I stayed in even earlier when Ed Ponzak (sp?) owned them. Peace and grace.–Bruce
