From Twelve Weight Apparel:
Twelve Weight Apparel, designers of unique and innovative fly fishing sun protection products, is proud to announce the launch of their Back Channel and 7 Mile Button-Down Shirts. The shirts combine multiple new fabric technologies, numerous thoughtful design elements, and precise stitching construction, resulting in shirts that are as functional and comfortable on the water as they are when the day’s fishing is over.
The Back Channel Button-Down Shirt is also available as short sleeve ($99) and long sleeve ($109) and is offered in Sky and Navy Network colors from size XS to XXXL. The Back Channel is a unique, multi-fabric technical fishing shirt featuring a woven polyester/nylon blend as well as stretch knit mesh panels. This fabric combination plus a raglan sleeve design provides unrestricted movement, UV protection, incredible air flow, and quick-drying capabilities. A single button-thru chest pocket has a small lanyard loop for accessories and a side panel drop-in pocket is deep enough to hold other small items securely yet within easy reach.
The 7 Mile Button-Down Shirt, available as short sleeve ($89) and long sleeve ($99) in both Blue and Green Hashtag colors from size XS to XXXL, are made of Seawool fabric, which is lightweight, super-soft, and quick-drying. Seawool yarns, made of crushed oysters shells and recycled plastic bottles, block UV rays, regulate heat, and provide odor control while maintaining a pleasant feel. Use of Soft-Touch Air Flow venting mesh has high air permeability and is comfortable next to skin. The high button-down collar protects necks from harmful sun rays and stays secure in the wind or on the run. Pattern matched, button-thru chest storage pockets securely fit passports and other small items.
Twelve Weight Apparel was founded in 2012 with the launch of its innovative SUNwt fly fishing sun gloves. Since then, co-founder, Product Director and multi-decade fly fishing industry veteran Steve Stracqualursi has brought to market a wide variety of products designed to provide comfortable sun protection to savvy anglers. With its headquarters in Portland, Maine, roots in the Florida Keys, and Field Team across the globe, Twelve Weight pulls inspiration from fly fishing environments of numerous types, where sun protection in a variety of temperatures is critical. Today’s product line includes sun hoodies, shirts, sleeves, and masks, button-downs, hats, tees and an updated version of the keystone product, the SUNwt 2.0 sun gloves.
“One of the core product decisions here at Twelve Weight is selecting the right textile for a project,” says Stracqualursi. “No amount of features will correct poor fabric selection. With these new button-downs, we think we hit the target.”
Speaking of hitting the target, in mid-July Twelve Weight Field Team member Capt. Will Benson guided his way to victory at the 2023 Del Brown Tournament. When asked about the new button-downs, he remarked, “These shirts have really good mojo!!”
Twelve Weight is also proud to partner with the exceptional team at Anglers All in Littleton, Colorado as a featured brand in their newly-constructed, high-efficiency, and self-sufficient Boathouse. Visit Anglers All or twelveweight.com to learn moreand browse the collection.
