BOZEMAN, Mont. (For immediate release) – Simms Fishing Products, the leader in guide-quality fishing gear, bolsters its position as the choice of professional fly fishing guides worldwide with the hiring of Peter Vandergrift as the new Guide Desk Manager.
As part of the Simms marketing team, Vandergrift will work with leading fishing guides worldwide by providing them with needed equipment, education and acting as a liaison with product designers and developers.
“Simms was built on the belief that if you design products to withstand the day-in, day-out use by professional guides, the product will perform for anyone,” said Diane Bristol, Director of Marketing and Brand Management for Simms. “Professional fishing guides are critical to our products and brand. That’s why we’ve created this new position at Simms. We want a one-to-one connection with guides and I am delighted that Peter brings the skill set best suited for this role.”
Vandergrift has spent the past 17 years as a professionally licensed fly fishing guide and outfitter in Montana and Alaska. His extensive knowledge of the fly fishing industry, award-winning journalistic skills and digital marketing experience will be utilized in the newly-created position. Vandergrift received a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of Montana English Department in Missoula.
Aside from owning and operating an outfitting business based in Livingston, Montana, Vandergrift served as project manager for the city of Livingston’s new website. His writing and photography has appeared in newspapers and magazines at local, state and national levels.
