Montana Fly Fishing Lodge is looking for professional fishing guides to join our 2025 team! You will be guiding for guests at an all-inclusive Orvis Endorsed Lodge in Absarokee, Montana.
Our guides are committed to providing a courteous, professional, and engaging experience for every client. We prioritize safety and strive to create memorable outdoor adventures. While we always aim for successful fishing trips, we recognize that a truly rewarding experience encompasses more than just the catch. Our guides foster a positive atmosphere, prioritize safety, share their knowledge of the natural landscape and sustainability practices, while offering companionship – elements our clients value especially when fishing conditions are challenging. Guide Qualifications:
• Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience guiding both float and wade fishing trips.
• Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding and execution of fly fishing techniques.
• Licensure: Currently holds or is able to obtain a Montana State Fly Fishing Guide License.
• Instructional Ability: Skilled in teaching and guiding clients of all ages and skill levels.
• Safety and Preparedness:
o Holds current First Aid and CPR certifications.
o Owns and maintains essential fly fishing and safety equipment.
o Possesses a valid commercial insurance policy.
o Provides a clean, safe, and reliable vehicle and fly fishing raft (at a minimum).
• Teamwork and Professionalism: Committed to fostering a safe, enjoyable, and educational team environment throughout the fishing season (May through October-all or part).
• Independent Contractor Status: Must meet the requirements for independent contractor certification.
• Expertise: Possesses strong knowledge of the local watershed ecosystem or demonstrates a willingness to learn.
