Henry’s Fork Anglers is searching for qualified, committed individuals to work in our retail shop. What better way to spend the season than working for one of the most legendary businesses in the industry, while working on one of the premier flyfishing rivers in the world?
Qualifications
• A friendly, outgoing personality. If you don’t enjoy working and helping others, don’t apply.
• Retail experience is preferred but not required.
• Extensive knowledge of local flyfishing opportunities.
• Customer service and willingness to help patrons are paramount.
• Ability to multi-task, keep all the balls in the air, complete tasks after interruptions.
• Experience with computer related tasks including social media, word processing, spreadsheets, POS systems.
• Have a good understanding of fly patterns, tackle and other related products.
Responsibilities
• Your primary responsibility is to sell but also to provide meaningful information. Be pleasant and respectful to all customers regardless of their flyfishing experience. Never miss an opportunity to convert your conversations into retail sales.
• Stay busy. There is always plenty to do when customers are not in the store. Possess initiative to notice what needs to be done and do it without being directed to do so.
• Keep the store clean and orderly. Never sit and waste time. There is always plenty to do including keeping the shop clean and orderly along with the grounds and parking area.
• Keep inventory maintained. Make sure shelves are stocked and report low inventory numbers to the managers,
• Be professional, well groomed, enthusiastic, on time and ready to meet the challenges of the day.
• Spend as much time as possible fishing our local waters. Most of our employees prefer to work a 10-hour, 4-day work week to allow more time on the water.
• Make recommendations and reservations for customers to book guide trips over the phone.
Other Information
• Working as a retail associate has been a steppingstone for many of our guides. Working in the shop for a year or two provides an opportunity to gain a professional understanding and knowledge of our fisheries. More importantly it helps us evaluate your ability to work and communicate with the public.
• Employees who can stay the entire season, May 15 – October 15, will have preference.
• We have a small full-service RV park behind our shop. Preference is given to guides and shop staff at a discounted rate.
• We welcome retired individuals that have great people skills, work ethic, and knowledge of flyfishing.
• Housing is available. Full-service, RV parking is also available.
