At OFFS you will be in the heart of the South Florida fly fishing scene. As the shop manager you will become engrained in the community and your day to day will involve engaging with customers. Some of whom you will learn a great deal from, but most of whom you will be guiding down the path that fulfills our mission: setting them up to have fun through fly fishing.

You’ll have incredible access to both local and far flung fishery knowledge through the rest of our team, customers, and industry partners. You’ll also have first access to new and innovative gear, flies and materials before they’re publicly launched.

In addition to engaging with customers, you will be actively involved in keeping the shop running smoothly. This means working on many backend processes including accounting, stock keeping and product building. You’ll have opportunities to solve unique problems that open the door to grow OFFS’s position in the fly fishing industry as well as your own career along the way.

What you’ll do:

  • Greet, guide and close, you’ll be responsible for every step of the sales and customer service process including through phone, chat and email
  • Spool fly reels up with backing and fly line
  • Use accounting software to perform basic data-entry and stock keeping functions that keep inventory in-synch
  • Build assembly type products such as materials kits and destination boxes
  • Direct and manage a team to help complete tasks
  • Work closely with the owner, the shipper, and the ecommerce team to solve problems and remove bottlenecks, opening up new opportunities to grow

What you’ll bring:

  • Fundamental retail knowledge and customer service experience
  • Fly fishing expertise along with the open-mindeness to keep learning
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Proficiency in the spanish language
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and delegate effectively
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Expected compensation:

$35,000-$55,000/annual salary + commission on in-house and phone order sales
Salary is commensurate on ability and experience
