June 1, 2010 (Idaho Falls, ID) – RIO Products announces the addition of six foot Spey VersiLeaders to its lineup of Spey casting products. In an effort to increase chances of catching more fish, the new VersiLeaders are a perfect quick fix for turning any line into a line with a sink tip.
RIO’s VersiLeaders are flawless for forming the anchor, and the new 6-foot long sinking VersiLeaders are ideal additions to sinking heads and sink tips for spey, single handed or switch rods. VersiLeaders are also an excellent addition for regular, full floating spey lines when a quick sink tip is needed. VersiLeaders have a high-tenacity, nylon core coated with a low modulus polymer mixture and are tapered according to length, allowing for consistent casting dynamics. These leaders feature an ultra-smooth, welded loop in the butt end to make connecting to the fly line extremely simple and quick. The tip end has 10 inches of the coating removed to allow for easy tippet connection with either a triple surgeon knot or a quick connecting loop.

VersiLeaders are available in 6 ft., 10 ft., and 15 ft. lengths and have a 24-pound core. The densities of the floating leaders are 1.5 ips (inches per second), 2.6 ips, 3.9 ips, 5.6 ips and 7.0 ips, and each leader has a different color loop to aid in easy identification. The leaders are available individually or as a complete kit of all five densities packaged in RIO’s heavy duty leader wallet. The individual leaders have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $7.95, while the complete kit MSRP is $49.95 and both options are available from all authorized RIO dealers.
