From Keen:
For Spring/Summer 2014, KEEN expands its lightweight and durable KEEN.CNX collection with styles for adventurers in the water and on land, and everywhere in between. Named for the Madison mountain range in the Rockies and the Gallatin River which runs alongside it, the new CNX styles provide outstanding performance with the KEEN promise of comfort, durability and protection.
“We know the KEEN fans don’t limit their adventures to just rivers, or just mountains and their footwear shouldn’t be limited either. This season’s CNX styles are impressive in all conditions, while still providing all the lightweight, low-profile performance people have come to expect from CNX,” says KEEN’s Outdoor Business Unit Director Jeff Dill. “This collection has inspired more outdoor enthusiasts. This season, we’re bringing lightweight protection to those looking for serious performance in a range of wet and dry conditions.”
The Gallatin CNX ($110) is a full-coverage water shoe with the CNX promise of low-profile, lightweight protection. A washable polyester webbing upper and secure fit lace capture system with a two-millimeter bungee provide dependable fit, even in swift-moving rivers and streams. The ultra-light proprietary PU midsole, combined with multidirectional grooves and razor siping on the outsole make the Gallatin CNX unstoppable in and out of the water.
For land-lovers, KEEN introduces the Madison CNX ($100) in low and mid heights. The all-terrain rubber outsole with multidirectional lugs provides traction on trails as well as on slippery rocks. A low profile PU midsole and integrated arch with a TPU insert adds sure-footed dependability for any adventure. Both the mid and low Madison styles feature a lightweight welded upper and quick-drying anti-debris mesh, making each shoe less than 9.4 ounces.
“The entire CNX collection has been a real stepping stone for KEEN. Retailers agree that the additional styles have helped them reach new customers,” says David Orr, KEEN’s national sales director. “Despite the late spring we saw across much of the country, the CNX collection is doing very well at retail. Summer sandal buyers have unequivocally embraced KEEN.CNX.”
