American Rivers is adding two river conservation leaders to its staff to further its goals of protecting and restoring the rivers of the Colorado River Basin. Ken Neubecker, based in Carbondale, will serve as Associate Director, Colorado River Basin and Sinjin Eberle, based in Durango, will serve as Associate Director of Communications.

American Rivers is a national river conservation organization and is working with partners across the Colorado River Basin to protect and restore rivers and ensure reliable clean water supplies for today’s communities and future generations. The organization, which was founded in Denver in 1973, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.

“We are thrilled to add Ken and Sinjin to our team in the Colorado Basin,” said Matt Rice, Colorado Basin Director for American Rivers. “They each bring outstanding talent, experience, and passion. We are fortunate to have these two conservation leaders fighting for the rivers that are so vital to our health, economy, and heritage.”

Ken Neubecker has been a leader on Colorado water issues for 20 years. Prior to joining American Rivers, Ken was Director of the Western Rivers Institute. He currently serves as the environmental representative on the Colorado River Basin Roundtable. An avid fly fisher and river rafter, Ken was President of Colorado Trout Unlimited from 2008-2010.  He joined American Rivers in 2013, coordinating efforts to create a blue trail in the Eagle Valley.

Sinjin Eberle brings extensive marketing and communications expertise to American Rivers, as well as significant experience with Colorado River conservation issues. Since 2005, he has been a senior marketing research analyst with Lynx Research Consulting, and previously worked in both the telecommunications and environmental litigation fields. He has held leadership positions within Colorado Trout Unlimited for ten years and served as President from 2010 to 2013. Sinjin recently received Colorado TU’s prestigious Silver Trout award for exemplary leadership and dedication to the preservation and restoration of Colorado’s coldwater fisheries. A child of Western Colorado, Sinjin revels in the landscapes of the southwest, and will be a strong advocate for their health and longevity.
