We are seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Manager to join our team at Mayfly Outdoors. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing our social media strategy to enhance brand awareness and engage our community of outdoor enthusiasts. This position is vital in promoting our mission and products while fostering a vibrant online presence.
Key Responsibilities
• Developing and Executing Social Media Strategies:
This includes defining goals, targeting specific audiences, and choosing the right platforms and content formats.
• Creating and Managing Content:
This involves generating original content (text, images, videos) and curating content from other sources to keep profiles engaging.
• Managing Social Media Accounts:
This includes posting content, scheduling updates, responding to comments and messages, and ensuring brand consistency across all platforms.
• Analyzing Social Media Performance:
This involves tracking key metrics, such as reach, engagement, and website traffic, to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
• Engaging with Online Communities:
This includes interacting with followers, responding to questions, and building relationships with ambassadors, content creators, brands, dealers, and influencers.
• Collaborating with Other Teams:
This involves working with marketing, sales, and customer service teams to align social media efforts with overall business goals.
• Staying Up-to-Date:
This includes monitoring social media trends, learning about new tools and platforms, and adapting strategies accordingly
• Other duties as assigned
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities needed:
• Self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills and ability to multitask
• Understanding of B2B and DTC marketing channels
• Leadership skills and the ability to speak up, provide recommendations, and execute
• Ability to drive change and engagement
• High level of project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Good knowledge and understanding of digital systems and tools such as CRM, SEO, marketing automation, and digital analytics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent English language skills and copywriting
• Ability to travel as needed in order to be efficient in the role
Qualifications
• 3+ years in social media, content creation, or brand creative roles
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or Public relations Bachelor’s preferred
• Strong visual design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
• Clear understanding and experience in Fly Fishing industry outdoor gear, or lifestyle content is a plus
• Photo and/or video shoot experience is a major bonus
• Product studio photography experience is also a major bonus
• A self-starter with strong communication and time management skills
• Creative and quick to execute on tight timelines
