Position Overview
We are seeking experienced and passionate fly fishing guides to join our team for the upcoming season. As a guide at Sunrise Fly Shop, you will lead float trips on our local rivers, providing expert instruction and an exceptional experience for our guests. This is a seasonal, independent contractor position with competitive pay and gratuities.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead guided float fishing trips on local rivers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for clients.
• Provide expert instruction in casting, fly selection, reading water, and fishing techniques.
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Navigate rivers safely and effectively using a drift boat or raft.
• Maintain all necessary fishing gear, boats, and equipment to ensure quality and safety.
• Educate guests about local fisheries, entomology, and conservation practices.
Requirements
• Must have a drift boat or raft with a fishing frame suitable for floating the Big Hole, Beaverhead, and Jefferson Rivers.
• Prior guiding experience with strong knowledge of fly fishing techniques, fish species, and local waters.
• Ability to provide a high level of professionalism, patience, and customer service.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Montana Guide License (or ability to obtain one before the season).
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude.
